Child safety standards

How Nikkah Ready prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation, and how to report a concern to us.

Who we are

Nikkah Ready is a Muslim matrimonial matchmaking service published on Google Play by Nikkah Ready Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17237164). These standards apply to the Nikkah Ready mobile application and to every service we operate.

Adults only

Nikkah Ready is intended solely for adults aged 18 and over who are seeking marriage. Nobody under 18 is permitted to create an account, appear as a candidate, or use any part of the service.

We enforce this in several ways:

• Every account holder must confirm they are 18 or over during registration.
• Every candidate profile must complete government-issued identity verification, including date-of-birth checks, through our third-party verification provider before the profile becomes visible to other users.
• Profiles that fail age verification are not published.
• Where we find that an account belongs to or represents a minor, we remove the account and its associated data.

What is prohibited

The following are forbidden on Nikkah Ready and will result in immediate removal from the service:

• Creating, uploading, sharing, requesting, or linking to child sexual abuse material.
• Sexualising a minor in any image, description, message, or profile content.
• Grooming, or any attempt to build a relationship with a minor for sexual purposes.
• Sextortion, or threatening to share intimate imagery of any person.
• Creating a profile for, or on behalf of, anyone under 18.
• Trafficking of children, or any attempt to arrange the marriage of a minor.
• Sharing contact details or arranging contact with a minor for any of the above purposes.

These rules apply to profile content, photographs, private messages, and every other part of the service.

Reporting a concern

Any user can report a profile or a conversation from inside the app. Open the profile or chat, choose Report, select a category, and describe the concern. Reports reach our moderation team directly.

You can also report a child safety concern to us by email at any time, whether or not you hold a Nikkah Ready account, using the contact details below. You do not need an account to make a report.

If you believe a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.

How we respond

We review every child safety report we receive. Reports of CSAE are treated as our highest priority and are reviewed ahead of all other moderation work.

Where we identify CSAE, we:

• Remove the content and terminate the account immediately and permanently.
• Preserve the relevant records as required by law.
• Report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), and to the Internet Watch Foundation and UK law enforcement where appropriate.
• Co-operate fully with law enforcement requests.

We do not require a court order before acting on a credible child safety report.

Legal compliance

Nikkah Ready complies with child safety laws in the United Kingdom and in every market where the app is available, including our obligations under the Online Safety Act 2023. We keep these standards under review and update them as our service and the law develop.

Child safety contact

We maintain a designated point of contact for child safety matters, including reports from users, regulators, and law enforcement.
